Camp Summit was a weekend camp of the Berkeley Council from 1927 to 1929. The camp was located in the North Berkeley hills adjacent to the Summit Reservoir. According to an news article from September 1927, weekly meetings of the “Werewolves” started last Monday night at the Scout Camp. Seven men enrolled in the first session and learned the mysteries of making camp lanterns out of tin cans, throwing tomahawks and cooking without equipment.
Many events were held at the Camp Summit weekend camp including the “Ka-dee-na” which was a competition of different events. Winners of the Ka-dee-na were presented with the “Herms trophy”, a coconut from the South Sea Islands.
