Achewon Nimat Village Merger History (1965-2020)

Achewon Nimat was formed in the early 1960’s by the merger of Machek N’Gult Lodge 375 and Royaneh Lodge 282.  Following the merger, Achewon Nimat had a village associated with each council district.  Over the years, the villages merged along with the districts and outside of the district mergers.  Below his a pictorial of the Achewon Nimat village merger history.

 

Chapters:

Machek N’Gult / Wekemnayon Chapter – Covered all of east bay Villages (1965-1982)

Ohlone Chapter – Covered Southern Villages (1975-1982)

Royaneh Chapter – Covered all of West Bay Villages (1965-1982)

 

Original Nine Villages / Districts:

 

  • Golden Acorn (Formed by the merger of Sunset and Lake districts in the Oakland Area Council) – Covered Oakland
  • Live Oak (Formed by the merger of Central and Castle districts in the Oakland Area Council) – Covered Oakland
  • Charrowood (Formed by the merger of Chabot, Arroyo and Redwood districts in the Oakland Area Council) – Covered Castro Valley, San Leandro, San Lorenzo, Fairview and Ashland.
  • South (Original District from Oakland Area Council) – Covered Hayward
  • Mission Peak (Original District from Oakland Area Council) – Covered Union City, Newark, Fremont, Niles, Washington Township
  • Twin Valley (Original District from Oakland Area Council) – Covered Livermore, Pleasanton, Dublin, Sunol
  • Golden Gate (formed by the merger of the Embarcadero, Mission Trails, McLaren Park districts in the San Francisco Area Council) – Covered 
  • Serra (formed by the merger of the Sunset “west” and Lake Merced districts in the San Francisco Area Council) – Covered 
  • El Camino (formed by the merger of the Twin Peaks and District 10 in the San Francisco Area Council) – Covered
