Camp Cedarbrook was located in the town of Long Barn, 30 miles east of Sonora. and was a Boy Scout camp of the Alameda Council from 1972 until 1999. However, the use of the property as a Scout camp actually started in 1929 when the Contra Costa Council was looking for a permanent summer camp location to replace Camp Diablo. Camp Contra Costa operated from 1929 until 1946 when the Alameda Girl Scout Council took possession of the property and renamed Camp Contra Costa to Camp Cedarbrook. Camp Cedarbrook continued as a Girl Scout Camp until 1971 when the property was transferred to the Alameda Boy Scout Foundation.
